Most weddings will begin in the morning at a church. In the evening the wedding party will be held at a separate reception hall.

More and more couples are choosing their weddings outdoors, and making them secular. Most people are not as religious as they once were, so they prefer not to get married in a church. People are now having outrageous weddings such as skydiving. Click here to watch a skydive wedding.

The reason the divorce rate is so high (50% on average) is that a lot of couples get married based only on infatuation, rather than the deeper connection. When those intense feelings fade, they move on.

For good luck a bride must wear: Something old; given by her mother or grandmother to pass along luck in marriage such as a wedding gown. Something new; for success in her marriage such as the wedding rings. Something borrowed; to show that all her friends and family are there for her. The item can be anything as long as it is returned. Something blue; is the ancient symbol of faithfulness, purity and loyalty. This can be items such as flowers or can wear blue in their clothing.

For Christian weddings, the priest usually announces the wedding with: In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, amen. This means that God has approved of this marriage. Altar; is where the bride and groom get married in a church.

Garter; goes on the bride's leg.

Train; a bride's gown will be extra long.

Honeymoon; when the married couple go on a short holiday to celebrate their marriage.

Vows; the words written by the couple that they read out to promise to be together forever.

Veil; covering the bride's face and lifted when they finally kiss.

Bouquet; flowers held by the bride.

Bridesmaid; a friend or sister of the bride.

Best man;a friend or brother of the groom.

Limousine; the long car that takes the bride and groom to the wedding.

Newlyweds; a couple recently married.
